Scrap&music #10

I just discovered this great challenge-site. It has sketches and a song to scrap after. This week it is "Time of your life". I used the phrase "good times" from the song..
The pic is from our National Day, the 17th of May, and all kids are having the time of their life on this day - eating as much hotdogs and icecreams as they like:-)

All papers and embellishments are from Crate (thickers from AC)

Sketch + mixed Media - Berry71bleu

This is made for the Berry71bleu September Challenge - Sketch + mix Media.
You can find the challenge here:

I started with the supercool Concrete paper from Papirdesign, and stamped with a brick-stamp. I then added some more bricks with some modeling paste and a stencil, used some more stamps, and then added a few splashes with black colorwash. I hope that will do for the mixed media part..
This is my daugther all dressed up for a birthday party.. She loves to put on her pink stuff, and she is so happy with her self... I hope she will always be pleased with who she is..

Here you can see some of the stamping and the modeling paste..

Thanks to ToneK who gave me a kick in the butt to make this page:-)

My creative Sketches - August Sketch

I have had a hard time finding the time to do some scrapping lately, but today was a good day!! It has been raining, so I could do lots of scrapping. This one is made after the August sketch over at My Creative Sketches, and I made it just in time to enter..
This is my sister and my kids. They love her to bits.. To bad they live so far apart..

Paper and embellishments are from Echo Papers - Sweet girl line.

Funny faces..

My daughter thought it was more funny to make faces than to watch her brother play soccer:-)
I have used papers and embellishments from Crate Papers - On Trend.
Wish you all a greate weekend:-)

September Challenge at Papirdesign

The September Challenge over at Papirdesign is "Baby". You can make whatever you like with papers, as long as it is to or with a baby..
I chose to scrap one of my favorite pics of my two little ones, taken when Mathilde was just one day old.. I have scrapped it before, but this can be scrapped many times... And they do need one each of this lovely picture. I have to print it out once more when I have bought more ink, since the printing is not good on this one.. It is not supposed to be as striped as the picture turned out.

As I said earlier, I have promised my self NOT to make any more of these floral, pink and too embellished layouts. If I do again before 2014 - please hit med in the head with something hard!!!

I have used lots of small flowers from Papirdesign (the big ones are from Prima)

The baby-chipboards and chipboard hearts are also from Papirdesign. I have cut out those cute bears from a paper and glued them on a couple of the hearts.. Aren`t they the cutest?!!

Crate Papers August Challenge

This months challenge over at Crate Paper is Navy blue and Sequins.
I used papers from the wonderful Maggie Holmes Collection, Stickers from On trend and Story Tellers, and other embellishments from the Pier Ephemera Pack.

The pics are from when I attended the world championship in cod-fishing this winter. Me and my friend went for the gold, and since the boats name was "Oceangold" we were sure to bring the medal home.. Didn`t happen though - but next year..!!

Since the title is "going for the gold", I decided on using gold sequins..
When I had the layout done, I suddenly found my participation card, and had to use it on the layout even though I don`t think it really fits..

I am trying again this year.. Anyone who wants to join me??

Wish you all a wonderful and creative day!

SummerDays

Summer is definitely coming to an end here, and autumn is in the air.. This often means that new christmaspapers are arriving my favorite PaperCompany and I am already in the production of my Christmas cards for this year.. BUT - lets not forget about the Summer!!
I still have plenty of pics from our vacation, and here is two from the pool area in Turkey.. Our son is under the blanket!!  The umbrella didn`t work as good for him as for the others when he wanted to play his Nintendo DS..

I have stacked up with Crate Papers, and this layout is made with the Pier-collection.

Some of the umbrellas are lifted with 3D-dots.

As the flue is having fun with my body, I wish you all a healthy and creative week.

Tutorial for Papirdesign

Yesterday I promised to show you a couple of tricks I use when making layouts..
Sometimes I would like to use stamps - like these little words- on my pages, but when making layered layouts, the stamping often goes wrong.  Another thing that bothers me sometimes, is when I put stickers on my layouts, and I regret.. The glue gets bad, the paper can be destroyed and the stickers gets ugly when I pull them off again..
So - to show you my tricks, I made a layout with lots of layers, and where I usually struggle a bit before I decide where I want to have my title without ruin the balance in the page..

Lets have a look at the stamping first:
Pull out a napkin, and remove one of the thin white layers behind it. Stamp your motive on the thin layer, and cut it out nicely.

I usually make at least two stamps, so that I have one extra if it turnes bad when it comes to the gluing.

Her er mine ord ferdig utklippet.

Before attaching the stickers to my page, I glue them to another paper, and line them up with the edge so they turn out straight. Then I cut them out, and since the glue is now on another paper, I can try them several places before I decide where to glue them..

When I have decided, I pull out my mod podge (decoupage glue will work just as good), and glue the stamped words to my page - very gently. You could also put a small amount of glue under the word so it will be easier to hold the word still when gluing over.

After trying several positions to my words, it finally ended up like this:

The summer in Northern Norway have been fantastic (except for a couple of weeks with low temperatures and rain). Here my daughter is enjoying the sun eight o`clock in the evening in Lofoten with just her panties on.. It was a rare and wonderful summer night!!

I have made so many of these types of layouts with lots of layers and flowers, that I had decided to take a long break from this kind of scrapbooking.. BUT... I have a tutorial coming up in the Papirdesignblog tomorrow, and I wanted to share a couple of tricks I use when making these kinds of layouts..

I have used some of the newest flowers from papirdesign - small pink gerberas, pink pions, and what was supposed to be tulips, but that looks more like rosebuds..;-)

I have cut out som small butterflies from a paper, and have spread them around the page. I have also stamped with some small words several places..

Takk for inspirasjonen Linn!!

A while ago Linn made a cool canvas using these frames, and I had to give it a go in a layout. So thanks for the Inspiration Linn!!

I made the green alphabetstickers a bit less green with a tiny brush with gesso.

Produkter:
PD 12736, "Barnedåp, beige"
PD 12648 "sommerfugler"
Gerbera, små rosa
Pioner, rosa
roseknopper/tulipaner - rosa
Stempel- rammer fra stemplene ... "gustav" og "slips"
Småord-stempler
Alfabetstickers grønne
Perleswirls - lilla og hvite
3D-puter

Please come back tomorrow.. I`ll show you a couple of small tricks I use when I made layouts like this one (and others..)

EEG suger...

Taking EEG sucks!!

I really understand my sons dislike of having to go through all those medical tests he has done for the last half year. Here he`s doing EEG for the second time.. and he hates it - even though it doesn`t hurt..

I found the papers and embellishments from MME to fit this picture and situation well - and wish I had more of those papers... For some reasons non of the Norwegian Scrapbook stores have taken in more than two papers from this line.. - shame on them!! lol

Later on I realized the text on his jumper, and I couldn`t belive how well it fitted with the situation:-). He loves his Lego wears, and wears them all the time, so we do have pictures from the two other times he has been doing EEG with similar fitting texts on his chest - lol..

Their mind is truly wonderful!!!

I know someone who are expecting a little baby boy in just a month, so I decided to make the giftbag and a card ready before my vacation. I have dressed a plain white paperbag with the babypaper with the beautiful name "Herman" (that is my boys name as well) and made a card. So now I am hoping it isn`t a babygirl that is born.. I have used papers and embellishments from Papirdesign.
